Hazrat Syed Sultan Abdul Magees alias Syed Shah Deewano was a prominent saint of Sindh. He was born in 581 AH, in Yamen. He belonged to the ruling family of Yemen. It is said that his father Syed Hussain Shah was the Emperor of Yamen.

Shah Deewano Sultan was still a 24 years old when his father died and he succeeded the Kingdom. He ruled Yemen justly and generously. One night Holy Prophet (PBUH) gave him the good news (Basharat) in a dream.

He gave up kingdom and adopted common life and at once left for Madina accompanying Syed Sakhi Ismaeel Shah who had been advisor to him during his kingdom and later became his devotee and follower. Syed Shah Deewano stayed in Madina for 6 months and later on shifted to Sindh.

He died on 26th Ramzan, 653 A.H. His annual Urs is held every year on same date and on the occasion, Iftari (food served for breaking fast) is served to about thousands of devotees present in dargah.
